Kalyani Foundation

Touching Human Lives

Kalyani Foundation - a Bikram Dasgupta initiative is a not-for-profit Foundation that supports those in need through various social schemes and uplift them through meaningful activities.

It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. Be it our effort to together fight the COVID-19 Pandemic in India through Covid fight program and India Covid aid programs, supporting folk artistes, migrant labourers, old and needy or specially-abled adults and children, mentor Bikram Dasgupta of Kalyani Foundation has given back to the less-privileged sections of the society for the sheer love he felt for all. The Foundation has been named after his mother Kalyani, who was one of the biggest inspirations in his life. Kalyani Foundation's concept of giving back is unique. It aims at continuous and systemic support by building homes, providing free rations, celebrating festivals in old-age homes, supporting education and bringing a smile to all who are abandoned by the society at large. BDG has motivated youngsters to volunteer and embrace the less fortunate as part of a bigger Kalyani Foundation Family.

 Kalyani Covid Fight

Kalyani Foundation through donations and fund raising is relentlessly working with corporate houses and old age homes to provide oxygen concentrators, ventilators and beds for COVID-19 patients in dire need of oxygen throughout India. Volunteers are visiting Old Age Homes to distribute Kalyani COVID Fight survival kits. As part of Coronavirus donation Kalyani Foundation has tied up with Entrepreneurs of Kolkata to reach out Medical Oxygen cylinders, concentrators and ventilators to hundreds gasping for breath. Through donation in lakhs, Kalyani Foundation promises to fight COVID-19 crisis together and win!

Kalyani Foundation's Youth Volunteer Brigade

In his endeavour to inspire and motivate the youths of today to join the 'Give Back to Society' mission, BDG formed Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum with students of Globsyn Business School as part of their Management curriculum.

KYLF helped nurture young minds to take up selfless social work as integral part of their education that in turn inculcate skills necessary to make compassionate future managers. Through small actions, they reached out to a lot of people and brought about a big change. Their 'Care for Society' initiative is AICTE recognised as a 'Best Practice' among its approved institutions. KYLF has touched 85,000+ lives through various activities including Beyond Education initiative, caring for old and needy in Old Age Homes, supporting Amphaan victims, distributing rations to migrant workers during Lockdown and embracing the differently abled youths and children.

JOY OF GIVING

KYLF goes 'Beyond Education'

The young managers-in-making of Globsyn Business School (GBS) who are part of KYLF Brigade, celebrates Joy of Giving months.

To create an inclusive society for all, even during Pandemic times, they touched upon hundreds of lives across West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Assam, selflessly working for the underprivileged sections of the society. They distributed clothes, masks, food ration and other basic daily necessities to bring the joy of fulfilment.

Celebrating
Birthdays

Bringing a Smile

They turn a new leaf, they enjoy the affection, the effort that Kalyani Foundation takes to remember their birthdays, that even their children tend to forget.

The 100-year-old Tollygunge Home is where our volunteers celebrate birthdays with elderly residents making them feel belonged. We step in to fillthe void in their lives on such special occasions. Apart from the customary cake cutting, birthdays are celebrated through games, songs and food, as the wrinkled facesof the old age home residents sparkle in merriment. Those smiling faces keep us going.

Hold their hands

They are Different

They are not to be ridiculed, they are not to be objects of pity. They are just different, and Kalyani Foundation understands how to help develop skills of differently-abled children and adults who are often marginalized in our society.

Given the huge challenges and social barriers faced by differently-abledadults and children, largely due to lack of education, awareness and compassion, Kalyani Foundation took up their cause to build support services and make them part of the mainstream.

We work closely with two NGOs in this sector – Care Giver Trust and Bodhayan.

Kalyani Foundation supports projects promoted by them for differently abled children and adults. From farming, to donating health equipment requirements, special skills development etc, Kalyani Foundation helpsdevelop a future livelihood for specially-abled adults. Activities include basic vocational skills to boost self-esteem and turn them self-reliant,so that they can lead meaningful lives. Organizing workshops to train them in Candle Making, Envelope Making, Paper Bag Making and Handloom. In addition, regular Yoga sessions are conducted as an intrinsic part of the healthcare initiatives helping them to alleviate their physical sufferings.
